I wasn’t even planning a trip—just casually scrolling when I saw photos of a cozy cabin surrounded by forest, water views, and a glowing fire pit. I’d recommend bringing a fire starter if you’re not used to building fires. The fire pit is a beautiful touch, but you’ll want to be prepared to enjoy it without frustration. Also, it’s worth noting that you are truly in nature—uninterrupted woods surround the cabin, and with that comes bugs and small wildlife. A good bug spray is a must. It’s part of the charm, honestly—just a reminder that you’re getting the full outdoor experience.
One thing I learned: if you plan to leave the cabin and return later in the evening, turn off your indoor lights before you go. With very little ambient light in the area, it helps you get in your door more easily without attracting flying insects when you come back.
